The Bond Trader (Fiction)
Note: The Following is a fictional account. All works of fiction are designed to make the world of finance sound more interesting than it really is. Enjoy!
Paul was a bond trader on Wall Street, and he had always thought of himself as an adventurer. Every day at the office, he imagined that his trades were actually daring forays into uncharted territory - full of risk and reward. The truth was far less glamorous: trading bonds was hardly the swashbuckling life Paul had dreamed of; it just involved buying and selling pieces of paper all day long.
Still, there were times when things got exciting - like that one time when Paul's boss sent him to broker a deal with a foreign investor in London. As soon as he stepped off the plane onto British soil, Paul felt like he'd been transported to another world. He didn't know whether it was the fog or maybe just his excitement about being abroad for work but everything suddenly seemed much more thrilling!
He spent two days negotiating fiercely with the investor until they finally reached an agreement both parties could agree upon. When it came time to sign their contracts, Paul felt a real sense of accomplishment; this kind of thing wasn't something you did every day! Sure enough, news soon spread about how successful their negotiations had been and before long other investors started seeking out Paul's help too - some even traveled from overseas just to meet up with him in person!
The next few years flew by in a flurry for our hero as he zig-zagged around the globe making deals left right and center. His reputation among investors grew rapidly until eventually everyone knew who "the Bond Trader" was: no matter where you went on Wall Street people had heard about his uncanny ability to make profitable investments come true! Inevitably though all good things must come to end and after 10 years (and many more wild adventures) our hero decided it was finally time hang up his hat...for now anyway ;)
